The Glendale City Council voted to dissolve an arena lease agreement with the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday, raising concern over the franchise's future. The council voted 5-2 to end a 15-year, $225 million lease agreement between Glendale and IceArizona. A state statute allows an agency to cancel an agreement if an employee directly involved with the deal becomes an employee for the other party. The Coyotes' hired former city attorney Craig Tindall as general counsel three months before IceArizona signed the deal for the Glendale Arena. Tindall, who resigned his city role in April 2013, collected severance through September but was hired by the Coyotes a month earlier. Coyotes' outside counsel Nick Wood said the team would file for injunctive relief, a temporary restraining order and a $200 million lawsuit against the city.
