San Francisco Giants pitcher Chris Heston threw a no-hitter for a 5-0 win against the New York Mets on Tuesday. The rookie right-hander, who is filling a gap on the Giants’ pitching staff this year, allowed just three base runners in the 13th start of his big-league career. The Giants have thrown a no-hitter in four consecutive seasons, with Heston following Matt Cain’s perfect game against Houston in 2012 and no-hitters from Tim Lincecum in 2013 and 2014. The only other team to match that record was the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Sandy Koufax from 1962-65. Heston struck out 11 and allowed just two balls into the outfield.
