An Albuquerque Fire Department driver who hung up on a 911 caller while working as a dispatcher resigned on Tuesday, officials said. Chief Administrative Officer Rob Perry confirmed Matthew Sanchez stepped down from the Albuquerque Fire Department after a recording revealed the firefighter hung up on a caller who was seeking help for a 17-year-old gunshot victim. When the caller grew agitated and cursed at Sanchez, he told her to "deal with it yourself" and hung up. The gunshot victim, Jaydon Chavez-Silver, died at a hospital.
