American Pharoah gave spectators another exciting performance after taking first place at the Haskell Invitational Stakes in New Jersey on Sunday, just two months after winning the first Triple Crown in 37 years. The three-year-old horse finished the mile-and-an-eighth course in just under a minute and 48 seconds, defeating the horse Competitive Edge in the final stretch. American Pharoah earned his team $1.75 million, which brings the colt’s career winnings to more than $5.5 million. The horse is reportedly retiring from competitive racing in October.
