Chinese authorities announced Thursday that 12 company executives have been detained and 11 government and port officials have been accused of negligence in connection to the devastating explosions that killed 139 people at a Tianjin warehouse this month. The 12 executives are mostly from Ruihai International Logistics, which owned the warehouse that blew up, and the officials include the head of Tianjin’s transportation commission as well as the boss of Tianjin’s port operator, according to a statement released by the Xinhua state-news agency. At least 34 people remain missing since the disaster and more than 500 are still hospitalized.
