The Defense Department said four Americans and two other peacekeepers were injured in two blasts caused by improvised explosive devices in Egypt's northeast Sinai region on Thursday. The Multinational Force and Observer (MFO) peacekeepers were airlifted to a medical facility and are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to Captain Jeff Davis. The four Americans were hit during the second blast while responding to help soldiers wounded in the first explosion, authorities said. The MFO was created to support the 1979 peace treaty between Israel and Egypt.
