Diana Loesch, the wife of a logistics expert who has been help prisoner in Yemen since March, is publicly pleading for his release after diplomatic efforts have failed. The U.S. government has urged Loesch to keep details of Scott Darden’s detention out of the press, but on Friday his best friend finally went public on Facebook. “I am frustrated by the absence of any tangible progress,” John Schlichter told the Washington Post. “Americans deserve to know that their fellow citizen, a good-hearted man earning an honest living abroad, was taken prisoner in a conflict that has nothing to do with him.” Darden was working for a shipping company in Yemen when Houthi rebels overthrew the presidential palace. He was arrested with other Americans as they sought shelter from a Saudi-led coalition bombing in Yemen.
