U.S. Soldiers Told to Ignore Child Rape

A former member of the Special Forces who is fighting for his career claims the U.S. military has been complicit in the molestation and rape of boys and girls in Afghanistan. U.S. soldiers say in a report by The New York Times that they were systematically told to look the other way when boys and girls were raped, particularly boys under a practice called bacha bazi, or “playing with boys.” “At night we can hear them screaming, but we’re not allowed to do anything about it,” one Marine told his father. Two members of Special Forces were allegedly relieved of duty after beating up a commander who was keeping a boy chained to his bed as a sex slave.
