A Connecticut jury on Tuesday ruled against a woman who sued her young nephew after she sustained an injury from a hug from the boy. Jennifer Connell claimed the 8-year-old was negligent when he ran to hug her, knocked her over, and broke her wrist at his birthday party in 2011. But it took only 20 minutes for the Superior Court jurors to rule against Connell, who sought $127,000 in damages from Sean Tarala, who is now 12 years old. He was the only defendant named and his father, Michael, accompanied him to court. His mother, Lisa, died last year.
