A man who allegedly killed his girlfriend in a car crash was supposed to be in jail at the time of the incident, Washington state officials revealed on Monday. Robert Jackson should have been in prison until December 6, but due to a software-coding error that has caused the premature release of as many as 3,200 prisoners in the state, he was released in August. Three months later, Jackson was driving when he crashed the vehicle, fatally throwing his girlfriend Lindsay Hill out of the car. Jackson has been charged with vehicular homicide.
