A North Korean official rebuffed an offer by presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump to meet with Kim Jong Un. An official called Trump’s statement a “kind of propaganda or advertisement.” Last week, Trump said he was willing to speak to the regime’s volatile leader in an effort to curb the country’s nuclear program, the first such overture from an American political figure in years. So Se Pyong, North Korea’s ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, said: “It is up to the decision of my Supreme Leader whether he decides to meet or not, but I think his [Trump’s] idea or talk is nonsense.” So said, “It’s for utilization of the presidential election, that’s all... There is no meaning, no sincerity.”
