Donald Trump was not calling for violence when suggested “Second Amendment people” could stop a potential President Hillary Clinton from nominating Supreme Court justices, according to the GOP nominee’s running mate Mike Pence. Speaking with NBC Philly shortly after Trump’s controversial comments, the vice-presidential nominee said, “Hillary Clinton made it very clear that she wants to see in changes in the right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms. And I think what Donald Trump is clearly saying was that people who cherish that right... should be involved in the political process and let their voices be heard.” When directly asked whether Trump was implying gun owners take up violence against Clinton, Pence replied: “Of course not. Donald Trump is urging people around this country to act consistent with their convictions in the course of this election.”
