The elite New Hampshire prep school where student Owen Labrie was convicted of sexually assaulting a young girl is asking a federal court to disclose the victim’s identity in a new lawsuit. The parents of the girl, who was 15 at the time of the May 2014 assault, are suing the tony school, claiming it did not do enough to safeguard their daughter. In the lawsuit, St. Paul’s School states that it wants to strip the lawsuit of any pseudonyms, accusing the family of using the press to go after the school’s “character, credibility, and reputation… from behind a cloak of anonymity.” Labrie was convicted last year of misdemeanor sexual assault among other charges. He is out on bail and appealing the conviction.
