In a foreign-policy address expected Monday, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will propose suspending visas from countries “with a history of exporting terrorism” and from which the U.S. cannot thoroughly vet potential immigrants. Additionally, Trump will call for an ideological test for those looking to enter the U.S., including questions about candidates’ beliefs on religious freedom, gender equality, and gay rights and searches of social-media accounts. He will also proclaim that the U.S.’s allies include any country willing to work with his administration to fight and defeat “radical Islamic terrorism,” and will compare the current struggle against terrorism to the Cold War. “Mr. Trump will outline his vision for defeating radical Islamic terrorism, and explain how the policies of Obama-Clinton are responsible for the rise of ISIS and the spread of barbarism that has taken the lives of so many,” the campaign’s senior policy adviser Stephen Miller said.
