During Wednesday evening’s third and final presidential debate, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton got into a brief battle over abortion laws, with the GOP nominee repeatedly making reference to “ripping the baby from the mother’s womb” as a near-fictitious description of partial-birth abortions (which was outlawed more than a decade ago). Despite the fact that Roe v. Wade only allows for abortions up to the point of viability, Trump used that graphic description to paint Clinton as supporting such an act. The thrust of Trump’s missive on abortion was so incoherent and misleading that conservative commentator and anti-abortion advocate Glenn Beck threw up his hands in frustration, via Twitter: “You have got to be kidding! Trump doesn't even know what partial birth abortion even is! Ahhhhhhhgggggg.”
