Donald Trump finished off his campaign Monday night in much the same way he ran it—by confusing the facts. At a rally in New Hampshire just hours before the polls were due to open, Trump touted the support he said he got from New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. “Tom Brady, great guy, great friend of mine, great, great champion, unbelievable winner. He called today and he said, ‘Donald, I support you, you’re my friend, and I voted for you,’” Trump told the crowd. “This guy is a champ and a winner and he is a great person,” Trump continued. “So I said, Tom, you voted for me, you support me, am I allowed to say it tonight to this massive crowd in New Hampshire? He said, ‘If you want to say it, you can say it.’” Oddly, Tom Brady said in a Monday morning interview that he hadn’t actually voted yet, contrary to Trump’s assertions. On the Kirk & Callahan radio show, Brady said he would vote “today or tomorrow,” though by that time, early voting had already ended, leaving only Tuesday for him to vote. Brady has not yet commented on Trump’s remarks.
