President-elect Donald Trump says he’s almost done with a plan to ensure “insurance for everybody” that will replace President Barack Obama’s healthcare plan. Offering no specifics, Trump said only that his plan would involve “lower numbers, much lower deductibles” in an interview with The Washington Post out Sunday. “It’s very much formulated down to the final strokes. We haven’t put it in quite yet but we’re going to be doing it soon,” Trump said, adding that he would reveal his plan alongside House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Trump’s announcement comes after Republicans and Democrats alike expressed concern over a lack of an alternative to the Affordable Care Act once it’s repealed. Trump, who promised that his plan would be “in a much simplified form. … much less expensive and much better,” said he was confident it would be passed. “I won’t tell you how, but we will get approval,” he said, adding that concerns over some low-income groups losing access to healthcare are unwarranted. “There was a philosophy in some circles that if you can’t pay for it, you don’t get it. That’s not going to happen with us,” he said.
