Janet Napolitano, the former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security and current president of the University of California, has been hospitalized for cancer treatment, the school announced on Tuesday. Napolitano was diagnosed with the unspecified cancer last August, after successfully beating a previous cancer, the university said in a statement. She was brought to the hospital on Monday after experiencing negative side effects. The current treatment is “nearly complete,” and the school added: “According to her physicians, she is doing extremely well.”
