House Speaker Paul Ryan said on Sunday that he will seek to change the Republican health care plan in order to help older Americans who might face higher costs. “We believe we should have even more assistance—and that’s one of the things we’re looking at—for that person in their 50s and 60s because they experience higher health care costs,” Ryan said on Fox News Sunday, adding that the goal is to “dramatically lower the price of the plan for the 50- and 60-year olds. But even with that, we think, we should be offering more assistance than what the bill currently does.” The full House is expected to vote Thursday on the legislation.
