A case of corporate espionage is turning into an international mystery. French carmaker Renault suspended three executives on Monday for leaking data regarding its electric-car program. Now the chief operating officer tells Le Monde, "Renault is the victim of an organized international network." Furthermore, a source says that Chinese interests may play a role in the case, and the French government, which owns 15 percent of Renault, has gotten involved, with the French industry minister calling it a case of "economic warfare." It isn’t clear what technology, if any, was leaked—the company’s COO says the “golden nuggets" of the technology are safe.
