Despite facing accusations of rape against one of its drivers in India, Uber is reportedly getting a bump in investment from Chinese search engine Baidu as it expands to China. The Wall Street Journal reports the Internet firm will buy a minority stake in the ride-hailing app as it expands to China. Uber is expected to receive cash and non-cash assets, which would include Baidu’s online resources as China’s biggest Internet search engine. A Baidu spokesman said the company will make an announcement about an investment with a U.S. startup on Dec. 17, but declined to name the company.
