“Silence is golden” is a concept lost on Chris Christie. After a report in the New York Times on Friday in which a former Christie ally, David Wildstein, said the governor knew of the Bridgegate scandal closings, the New Jersey governor went on the attack. In an email to allies and reporters called “5 Things You Should Know About The Bombshell That's Not A Bombshell,” Christie blamed the Times for its “sloppy reporting” and Wildstein for his lack of evidence for his accusations. He attacked Wildstein's credibility, noting that he “has been publicly asking for immunity since the beginning” and is merely “looking for the Port Authority to pay his legal bills.”
