Legendary women’s basketball coach Pat Summitt died early Tuesday from complications of early-onset dementia at the age of 64. “It is with tremendous sadness that I announce the passing of my mother, Patricia Sue Head Summitt,” Tyler Summitt said in a statement. “She died peacefully this morning at Sherrill Hill Senior Living in Knoxville surrounded by those who loved her most.” She was diagnosed with a neurological disease in August 2011. During her entire coaching career, Summitt had a 1,161-212 record, the most wins in NCAA Division I history.
