After the blast and fire on Tuesday that devastated Transocean's Deepwater Horizon drilling rig, the Coast Guard has called off search and rescue efforts for the 11 crew members still missing. The rig has sunk and a salvaging expert said, "I would say the chances of salvaging that thing are zero. The magnitude of this is just enormous." Meanwhile, efforts are under way to contain the massive amounts of oil that leaked into the ocean after the accident and to prevent it from reaching the Louisiana coastline. “The Coast Guard is upbeat and positive that the spill will be contained before it gets that far,” said an official.
