The flood waters in Colorado continue to rise, as rescuers fight to reach dozens of people trapped in their homes by the “biblical rainfall amounts,” according the National Weather Service. At least four people have been killed, one is still missing, and hundreds have been forced from their homes. Officials have called for the evacuation of thousands of Boulder residents. President Obama declared the site a national emergency Thursday night, freeing up federal aid and FEMA to begin disaster relief. "It is not an ordinary disaster,'' County Sheriff Joe Pelle said. "All the preparation in the world ... can't put people up those canyons while these walls of water are coming down.”
