Jack Carter, who was the first-ever host of the televised Tony Awards in 1956, died at age 93 on Sunday. The comedian spent seven decades on the stage and television, including a stint as host of his own NBC program. He appeared more than 50 times on The Ed Sullivan Show, and later played in Las Vegas and across the country.
