A media consultant claims he came up with the idea for Current TV’s sale to Al Jazeera and that Al Gore unceremoniously cut him out of the $500 million deal. John Terenzio filed a lawsuit against network co-founder Gore, saying the former vice president was initially opposed to the idea after Terenzio presented it to a member of Current’s board of directors in 2011. “Plaintiffs are informed and believe that Gore was adamant in his rejection of the proposal to sell his liberal, environmentally friendly network to the oil-rich Qataris who owned Al Jazeera,” the lawsuit says. “Apparently, Gore had a change of heart.” Current TV was sold, in January, to these very same oil-rich Qataris.
