Charles Fernyhough

Award-winning writer and psychologist Dr. Charles Fernyhough’s work runs the gamut from literary fiction and memoir, to science and psychology.  He is the author of two novels: The Auctioneer (Fourth Estate, 1999) and A Box of Birds, a literary thriller about the brain and those who study it, forthcoming from Unbound.  His newest book is PIECES OF LIGHT: How the New Science of Memory Illuminates the Stories We Tell About Our Past is out from Harper.  His book, A Thousand Days of Wonder: A Scientist’s Chronicle of His Daughter’s Developing Mind (Avery, 2009) was a Parade magazine pick of the week and has been translated into seven languages. Fernyhough has written for The Guardian, The Financial Times, Nature, The Observer, and The Sunday Telegraph.  He blogs regularly for Psychology Today and has made numerous radio appearances in the UK and US.
