American Security Project, was executive director of the Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferation and Terrorism, a staffer on the Senate Armed Services Committee, and is the author of
Fractured States and US Foreign Policy: Iraq, Ethiopia and Bosnia in the 1990s. In 1996, she served as a human rights officer in Bosnia, supervised elections there in 1997, and was an elections monitor in Afghanistan in August of this year.
