With credentials up the wazoo, Dr. Jenna A. Bell, registered dietitian, has nutrition and exercise physiology expertise, but knows that there are many ways to find your own healthy, happy lifestyle. With a “taste-first” approach and a deep dedication to delicious dining, she aims to improve diets by demystifying nutrition recommendations and simplifying the mess of messages. She doesn’t bore people with restrictions and restraints, she excites them with tools they can use, food they will eat and a lifestyle that makes sense. Jenna doesn’t ridicule even the most disastrous eater, but takes a hard line to help them set their diet and lifestyle straight.
Dr. Jenna A. Bell is the co-author of Energy to Burn: The Ultimate Food & Nutrition Guide to Fuel your Active Lifestyle (John Wiley & Sons 2009) and Launching Your Dietetics Career (ADA 2011). She is the Chair of theSports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Dietetic Practice Group and member of the Editorial Advisory Board forToday’s Dietitian. She is an international presenter at professional conferences, and her writing and expertise have been featured in Us Weekly, Self Magazine, Fitness Magazine, Outside Magazine, Runkeeper.com, AppForHealth.com, Men’s Health, Runner’s World, Pilates Style, IDEA Fitness Journal, IDEA Health and Fitness Source, IDEA Personal Trainer, other print publications and on the web. She’s been published in scientific journals, and appeared on the Daily Buzz, ABC, NBC and FOX affiliates, local and national radio programs and podcasts.
As a Senior Vice President, Director of Food and Wellness for Pollock Communications, Jenna stays on the cutting edge of food and nutrition trends that impact what consumers eat and talk about. With the EAS Sports Nutrition Advisory Panel, she helps educate fitness professionals and athletes about eating for performance and recovering right. She is co-founder of Swim, Bike, Run, Eat! and has provided nutrition seminars with professional athletes at major athletic events like the Boston Marathon, the ING New York City Marathon, Bank of American Chicago Marathon and the Ford Ironman World Championship in Kona, HI.
Jenna is a two-time Ironman Finisher and has slowly completed three marathons. In addition, she has competed in numerous sprint and Olympic distance triathlons and road races. As a new Mom as of April 2013, she’s committed to training at Physique 57 in New York City.
Dr. Jenna earned her doctorate with distinction in Health and Human Performance with an emphasis on Exercise Physiology at the University of New Mexico, Masters Degree with distinction in Nutrition and dietetic internship at UNM, and Bachelors in Nutritional Sciences from the University of New Hampshire.
