A Stonewall, Mississippi, police officer who choked an unarmed black man to death last year was not indicted by a grand jury on Monday. Jonathan Sanders died after Officer Kevin Herrington reportedly placed him in a chokehold for 20 minutes. It is unclear what started the altercation. Sanders, 39, was allegedly denied CPR, despite the fact that a witness said Sanders repeatedly told Herrington “I can’t breathe.”
