A man claiming to be an artist was banned from taking photos near a pool in Fargo, North Dakota, after arousing suspicion from police—despite being on public property, which is legal. The man, who wore slacks and a long-sleeve shirt despite the heat, took photos near a public pool with a zoom lens, according to witnesses. Taking photos in a public place is legal, but police banned him from both the pool and park property; if he returns, he’ll be arrested. “The Park District realized this is somebody they don’t want hanging around their parks,” Sgt. Matt Christensen of the Fargo Police Department said. The man, whose name has not been released, has not been charged with any crime.
