Rashan Salaam, a Heisman Trophy winner and former NFL player, shot himself in the head in what was ruled a suicide, a coroner in Colorado said Thursday. The body of Salaam, 42, was found by a passerby earlier this month, according to police in Boulder. Salaam, a running back, won the Heisman Trophy in 1994 and was drafted by the Chicago Bears in 1995. He went on to play four seasons total with the Bears and the Cleveland Browns. Salaam’s brother said Salaam suffered from depression and was affected by head trauma stemming from his time as a football player.
