Four former police officers in New Orleans got sentenced on Wednesday to sentences ranging from 7-12 years in jail for the infamous shooting of unarmed civilians on the Danziger Bridge shortly after Hurricane Katrina. Another officer was sentenced to three years in jail for his involvement in a cover-up of the events which occurred on September 4, 2005. Kenneth Bowen and Robert Gisevius were sentenced to 10 years while Robert Faulcon Jr got 12 and Anthony Villavaso got 7. U.S. District Judge Kurt Engelhardt had previously sentenced the four men to at least 38 years in prison, which were vacated after a new trial was ordered due to misconduct.
