Senators decided this afternoon to consider a historic bill on DC voting rights, the first time in 30 years that the Senate has agreed to hear argument on whether the seat of the nation should be represented in Congress. The bill would add two seats to the House of Representatives: One for the heavily Democratic District of Columbia, which currently has no seats in the House, and one for Republican-leaning Utah, which currently has three. Obama co-sponsored the legislation when he was a senator and is expected to sign the bill if it reaches his desk.
