There was other election news on Tuesday night: the Democrats kept control of the Senate, Todd Akin legitimately lost the Senate race in Missouri to Claire McCaskill and in Massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren beat out Scott Brown and became the first female elected to the Senate from the state. Colorado and Washington also made history at the polls, becoming the first states to legalize marijuana for recreational use. Additionally, Maryland and Maine voted to legalize gay marriage.
