Dior Dress Came In The Way of The Bathroom: You may remember Diane Kruger’s Dior couture dress she wore at the Cannes Film Festival in May. Turns out she couldn’t pee in it. She tells People: “[The gown] had a huge bodice. It was so big that it took me an hour to get into it and the only way for me to go to the bathroom was to take off the bodice. Once I finished dinner, I had to go to the bathroom, and it became so tight that I couldn’t breathe anymore.” Luckily, her fiancé Joshua Jackson came to the rescue. She continued: “Josh had to come with me to the lady’s room and cut me out of it. That’s real love, isn’t it, to have someone like him help me in the weidest situations. He’s great and he’s like my hero." [People]
Gaga Enters The Ring: It’s the fashion week ‘beef’ that won’t die. Now Lady Gaga has chimed in on Oscar de la Renta and Cathy Horyn’s feud, taking to twitter with a message aimed at de la Renta’s PR director Erika Bearman, who’s twitter account @OscarPRGirl has over 150,000 followers. The pop star tweeted, “@OscarPRGirl Bravo Oscar. Only you would be so chic as to purchase an entire page in WWD, making statements like a good fashion citizen.” This isn’t the first time Gaga has challenged Horyn’s opinion, last year ranting to V magazine, “To be fair, Ms. Horyn the more critical question to ask is: when did the pretense of fashion become more important that its influence on a generation?” [WWD]
Going Global: Yesterday Condé Nast announced that Vanity Fair would be getting its own French-language publication to be released sometime next year. Joining the new tome is Le Figaro’s infamous Virginie Mouzat (Carine Roitfeld’s rumored rival), who will leave the French paper to head up the new magazine’s fashion and lifestyle department. [NYT]
