Just 19 months ago, Osama bin Laden was assassinated by an elite group of Navy SEALs. And on Dec. 19, a major Hollywood film detailing that raid, Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty, will hit theaters. Those worried about a Hollywoodization of the ordeal need not worry, Bigelow says, calling it a “very accurate rendition” of what happened. She even built a full replica of the house bin Laden was killed in, so that every detail would be correct, “down to who was on what step when, how they went around a corner.” In an interview with Entertainment Weekly alongside screenwriter Mark Boal, Bigelow also dismisses accusations that they were given inappropriate access to classified information.
