A U.S. District Court has ruled that Dish Network violated the Federal Trade Commission’s telemarketing rules by making tens of millions of calls to numbers on the Do Not Call registry. According to the FTC, Dish and its vendors were liable for 4,094,099 calls and its retailers were responsible for 2,730,842 calls to numbers on the list. Even worse, according to the FTC, Dish pushed for calls to people who had already told the company or its callers that it did not want to receive any more calls.
