Nearly a week after his car plunged 200 feet off a cliff, a 67-year-old man was found alive on the scene in a remote area north of Los Angeles. An L.A. detective helped the man's family track him down by tracing text messages and debit card purchases. The survivor, David LaVau, was in serious condition on Friday morning and taken to a hospital. Another vehicle was found nearby, and police identified the dead driver as an 88-year-old man who was apparently on his way to a San Diego casino and had been reported missing last month.
