The Ebola virus has hit Senegal with its first case, making it the fifth country to be infected during this latest outbreak. Senegal's Health Minister Awa Marie Coll Seck said a Guinean student came to a hospital in Dakar with symptoms on Tuesday, but he hid the fact that he had recently spent time with relatives in Guinea who were suffering from the virus. Guinean officials had actually been looking for the man for three weeks because he had evaded their health surveillance efforts. "We are tracing his whole itinerary and also identifying anyone who had contact with the patient who now that he has been diagnosed is much more cooperative and supplied all the necessary information," said Seck.
