Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino says the British government has threatened to raid their London embassy unless they turn over WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. “We are not a British colony,” Patino shot back in a letter shaming the British embassy. The minister added that Ecuador will announce a decision on Assange’s asylum request Thursday morning. Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa also commented on the alleged UK bullying, saying the precedent it sets is “absolutely unacceptable and a threat to all countries.” The hacker is wanted in Sweden on rape charges and has been hiding out in the Ecuadorian embassy since mid June.
