Former U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown (D-FL), who served for 12 terms, was convicted Thursday on more than a dozen federal fraud charges. Brown reportedly used her position to help solicit upwards of $800,000 in contributions for a sham charity called One Door for Education. Robbie Simmons, her former chief of staff, previously pleaded guilty in the case. The two were both named last year in a 24-count federal indictment in the scheme.
