Former Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva was charged on Thursday with ordering live ammunition to be used on anti-government protesters in May 2010. More than 90 people died in the demonstrations, when supporters of ousted Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra took to the streets of Bangkok, insisting on reform. Abhisit’s former deputy prime minister, Suthep Thaugsuban, was also charged for his role in the crackdown.
