The father of Quintonio LeGrier, one of two Chicagoans fatally shot by police this weekend, filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the city on Monday. Antonio LeGrier's lawsuit, the Chicago Tribune reports, claims police used "excessive and inappropriate deadly force" and that Quintonio LeGrier "never posed a danger or threat of harm to any Chicago police officer before he was shot." Police were called to the LeGrier residence for a domestic disturbance, and according to officials, Quintonio LeGrier, a 19-year-old engineering student, became combative when they arrived. A dispatcher suggests that Quintonio LeGrier had a baseball bat, but his father's suit says he did not have a weapon of any kind. Bettie Jones, a neighbor, was also fatally shot by the police who responded to the domestic disturbance call. Chicago cops have admitted that Jones's death was an accident.
