On Friday, the city of Ferguson, Missouri released the content of the racist emails described in a Justice Department report, which found rampant discrimination in the police and legal systems of the city. Three people, Ferguson police Capt. Rick Henke, Sgt. William Mudd, and Court Clerk Mary Ann Twitty either resigned or were fired over the emails. None received severance packages. Most of the emails appear to have been from Twitty to the officers, making jokes based on stereotypes about Muslims, immigrants, and other minority groups. Mudd also sent an email to Twitty making fun of welfare recipients who are unemployed, unable to speak English, and have no “clue who their daddies are.”
