TOP 10 RIGHT NOW
The Los Angeles Film Critics Association announced their first round of winners today, adding to the pre-Oscar buzz for some names. Mo'Nique scored a best supporting actress win for Precious and Christoph Waltz won for his supporting performance in Inglourious Basterds. Coming off a healthy box office weekend, Up in the Air and its writers Jason Reitman and Sheldon Turner nabbed the award for best screenplay. Other winners didn’t come as much of a surprise: Philip Ivey's production design for District 9 earned honors, The Cove and The Beaches of Agnes tied for best documentary, and best cinematography went to Christian Berger for his work in The White Ribbon. Best film, actor, and actress awards will be announced later today.
