Riviera Beach, a small community in Florida, passed a law last year outlawing pants that sag low enough to reveal—quelle horreur!—boxers or skin. Since the pants were made illegal, 15 to 20 young men have been cited and the county’s public defender is now challenging the ordinance as being unconstitutional as it “violated principles of freedom of expression and the right to due process.” During the trial fashion designer Chelsea Rousso brought a few photo exhibits to prove the look was an “expression of identity”—David Beckham, Zac Efron and Prince Harry were her prime examples of the mainstream look. The city’s final argument will be made on April 22.
