Best Dressed, Winner of the Week: Gwyneth Paltrow

Sometimes the stars align, and the right person wears the perfect dress at exactly the right time. That was the case with Gwyneth Paltrow, who wore a white Tom Ford dress to an Obama fundraiser she co-hosted at London’s Mark’s Club on Wednesday night. (To be fair, she has a strong track record in Tom Ford: we spotted a white stunner in his last collection that she chose for the Oscars.

Best Dressed, For Being Themselves: Sarah Jessica Parker and Valentino Garavani

What a match: she wore Valentino (of course) and he looked dashing in a tuxedo on the red carpet at the New York City Ballet Gala on Thursday, for which he designed the ballet costumes.

Best Dressed, The Toast of Tuvalu: The Duchess of Cambridge

A floral crown may be the week’s best accessory. But let it be known: it looked a whole lot better on Kate than it did on Will. The duchess looked great as she received a traditional welcome wearing an Alice by Temperly dress (center), a yellow eyelet number to Honiara Airport in Tuvalu, and then returned to the Brisbane Airport in a Project D “Penelope” tea dress at the end of her trip. Strong fashion diplomacy all around.

Best Dressed, Looking Better Every Day Now: Lizzie Olsen

Even though she’s not wearing her sisters’ line, The Row, it sure looked like it: the littlest Olsen attended a photocall for her movie, Liberal Arts, on Sunday in London in a minimal ensemble of a white Topshop blazer and ASOS black leather pencil skirt.

Best Dressed, Better Than a Pinup: Dita Von Teese

The International Queen of Burlesque looked fit for the queen as she attended the Burberry show on Monday.

Best Dressed, Electric Socket Chic: Kelly Osbourne

We may be meandering toward fall, but that didn’t stop Kelly Osbourne from pulling out all the stops (and brightest colors) for the Chris Benz show in Lincoln Center last week.

Best Dressed, Pastel Mood: Zoe Saldana

On stage at the ALMA Awards at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Sunday, Saldana looked demure on stage with director Robert Rodriguez. Saldana, who wore a pink Gucci Resort 2013 dress, took home the award for Favorite Movie Actress in a Drama Adventure.

Best Dressed, Unusual But Still Passable: Emma Watson

This was an odd choice—and we’re still not sure about it—but Watson pulled off an asymmetrical (and very short) cream-colored dress to the Cinema Society premiere of The Perks of Being a Wallflower in New York last week.

On the Fence, Canadian Tuxedo: Charlotte Casiraghi

It’s hard to give high marks for double-denim, but the Princess of Monaco wore this Gucci jean suit with so much confidence it wasn’t a miss either. With the center part and the hoop earrings, it was sort of ’70s in an incredible way. We leave it to you to hash this one out!

Worst Dressed, For Forgetting Her Pants: Sophia Bush

This is just too short. And with no back, and with strings hanging down, it just … doesn’t work. She wore this to the premiere party for her new CBS show, Partners, at a nightclub called Greystone Manor Supperclub in West Hollywood on Tuesday night. So it was, at least, location-appropriate.

Worst Dressed, Peek-a-boo: Lady Victoria Hervey

We don’t know where to begin on this one: the choice of a black strapless cocktail dress in the middle of the afternoon, the “V” necklace in gold, or aviator sunglasses with “V-O-G-U-E” in white letters across the front. But wait: the guy’s look on the left says it all.

Worst Dressed, Meshy Situations: Britney Spears

Who needs a bra when you have Simon Cowell and all the crazy in the world? Not Britney!

Worst Dressed, Biggest Cultural Confusion: Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga changed three times during the Philip Treacy show on Sunday night: there was a pink sheet, a floral helmet, and then this: a burqa mixed with a furry Upper East Side matron. Does that make it a fur burqa? A furqa. Whatever it was, it was weird.

Worst Dressed, Meshy Situations 2: Eva Longoria

It’s hard to tell if that was mesh on her dress, or just a different color stripe—but either way, the dress Longoria wore to the ALMA Awards in Pasadena, Calif., left little up to the imagination.
