The first funeral for the victims of Tucson’s shooting victims was held Thursday, as the youngest casualty, 9-year-old Christina Green, was buried. Hundreds of mourners lined the streets outside St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Tucson, many wearing white, and some dressed as angels. Christina’s father, John Green, addressed the crowd, saying “Christina Taylor Green, I can’t tell you how much we all miss you.” A flag rescued from ground zero after the Sept. 11th terrorist attacks—the day Christina was born—was draped across two extended ladders of two fire trucks outside the funeral, forming an arch. Addressing the nation Wednesday night, President Obama remembered Christina, saying “I want our democracy to be as good as Christina imagined it.”
